The Cradle
The living heart of the world — a place, a force, or both.
The Cradle is one of the campaign’s deepest mysteries. It is referenced in lore and may be a physical location, a cosmological state, or the name the world gives to its own living core.
What Is Known
- The Cradle is associated with the living, breathing quality of the world in Nyth
- It relates to The Black Water and possibly to Osgog (the lake)
- The Ancient Tree, Circles, Sacred Groves, and Wells, and the The Trilithon may all be outcroppings of the same force
- The Bears may be its guardians, emissaries, or symptoms
- The Mornaswydh may be its shadow-side or its wound
What Is Suspected
- That The Boatman knows what the Cradle is and will not say directly
- That The God King’s reach is weakened within it
- That the party’s journey has been moving toward it since the beginning
