We perceive that all the elemental assailants have been focusing their attention on Balthazaar. Why?

(We have homework to do around the chess board. Here’s our initial analysis, noting that we are probably all represented on the board.

Krambler takes Storr’s bronze katana and uses the hammer to fix it (he successfully does!). It’s definitely a blacksmithing hammer and he learns he can put some of himself into the object. He’s developing a feel for it and feeling more capable.

C and Silas chess again. C stomps him (19 - 5). Board forthcoming.

Storr asks Cricket as a Monsoth native, if he understands the story depicted in the blanket. He doesn’t recognize the story, but sees it as a story about people discovering fire by meeting a fire god. B is reminded of another story:
