1. A Night Not Soon Forgotten At the end of last time, we saw Balz get up, and Mowen grabbed his arm. There was a moment of intense exchange, and he sat back down. He never talked to Rhian (the elder)

We’re at the party. We wouldn’t necessarily know the bit about Balz having to impregnate the queen., but word traveled around the room and we all got the information. But the party is in full swing now, and we can’t really converse among ourselves. Branwen begins next to Silas as last time he become intimidated by her purpleness. Storr is close to Balz and the queen.

And so we engage in our own happenings with the DM.

Things that the party did:

Storr decides to seek out Branwen and Silas. She stands up and sees Branwen talking to the elder and goes over there.

Branwen goes to talk to Rhian. - This conversation didn’t yield anything very fruitful.  This village worships Gwenethen and Gorgomog, and don’t seem to make the connection to Morianoth, that Branwen figures is pretty obvious.

Silas sneaks away from Branwen successfully with Arthen. They make their way outside to gaze a the stars. Silas poaches some brew from the tap and offers some to Arthen. They find a pile of gristle and bone and fat and feathers leftover from rending the dinner meat and Arthen indulges himself. Silas then proceeds to “decorate” Arthen in feathers and grease. They sneak some more brew and make their way back inside, trying to get to the stage in the far corner without anyone noticing. The extra beer though hasn’t helped, and they cause a small cacophony upon reentry.

Krambler (fill in stuff here)

Balz is conversing with Mowen courteously, if a little apprehensively.

Silas and Arthen make a scene coming back in. Arthen is covered in feathers and grease. Krambler goes over to Silas to help. The three make a break for the stage, drunk, dirty and disruptive.  Branwen casts darkness on the corner they’re in. Everyone in the place is shocked and scared at this sudden darkness and they retreat to the far corner.

K tries Prestidigitation in the face of B’s darkness, and can’t do it. He’s freaked.

Silas still tries to get to the stage in the darkness. He doesn’t. From the floor, he pulls out his pan flute and starts playing. Sounds happen, but they’re not good.

B stops concentrating on the darkness, and it dissipates.

  1. Rhian is Furious Rhian is furious. She  says something to the effect that this is the thing we’re trying to cast out, this darkness, and instead celebrate the goodness or our harvest. The elder is not interested, and is in fact, furious. K tries to reason with her and she says, “Silas”

She summons the burlier farmers to keep a watch over Silas and K. A group of villagers try to leave with Balz and Mowen.

Everyone else heads outside. Rhian turns to B and asks, “Who are you? Are you trying to prevent the union of G and G?”

B is defensive and makes her ask a different way.

B: No, we’re just passing through. Just typing to prevent a scene.

R: Too strange a coincidence to arrive onz the eve of the harvest with someone like you on the party.

B: I’m not sure what you mean.

R: you arriving with your paleness and your black hair and your purple eyes? Are you the Moon’s mistress? Why are you infiltrating our town?

B: We just happened upon your town, and we are looking for rest. As to where we’re from, we have varied backgrounds. As for me, yes, my patron is the moon’s mistress. She is my patron, the same as the woman you hold dear.

R: Gwenethen is a friend of the sun, and you soundlike Mother Night.

B: There are various aspects to many entities. To think your G is one-sided is a mistake. She is a friend of the sun. (rolls persuasion, 19)

R: softens with B’s comments. I accept what you say, I hear it, but I cannot allow you to interfere with what happens next tonight. You’re staying at the farm tonight?

B: We will stay close by our friend. I assume they are doing this inside?

R: No, they are returning to the boulder. No one is allowed to approach. You must return to the farm and may not interrupt this. If you are looking for our help, you should respect my word.

B: side-eyes storr

S: puts a hand on B’s shoulder “I am Balz’s sworn protector. Where he goes, I go. You must swear no harm, will come to him. You have my apologies for the disruption.

R: I can take you close, but not to it.

  1. The Stay At the Farm Branwen returns to the hall to find Silas, Arthen and Krambler. B helps Silas up. S, A, K and B make our way to the farm. Silas and Arthen bath themselves in the running stream by the farm.

There’s a little bit of apprehension and anxiety with the farmers given the events of the evening. A little stand-offishness.

B heals Silas a bit.

They show us to the barn. “Bed down and I’m sure we’ll have further conversations tomorrow.” Branwen finds some hay in the barn and passes out. Silas and Arthen sleep outside. K does too.

It’s the morning.

Storr sees Rhian walks towards the clearing in the morning, she’s ignoring Storr. There’s a nest, four women standing near the edges of the clearing. There’s some movement in a lite bower by the stone. B and Mowen are there, they get up and walk to Rhian. She bows to them. They bow to her. Rhian says to follow her and they do. Balz is walking solemnly, no spring. He and Mowen are holding hands, followed by the 4 women in procession. Storr follows trying to get Balz’ attention. When she makes a noise, the 4 women give her a look. Storr flexes. The women shake their heads in disgust and continue. Storr follows.

B and K are up with the sun. Silas and Arthen take a dip in Stanley Pond when it’s nice and misty.

K, B and Silas hang at the farm and ask if we can have some breakfast. Silas knocks on the door. The wife answers. Wearily she says, good morning. She agrees to offer us breakfast. Eggs, bacon and bread out of the oven.

  1. The Morning After Meanwhile, Storr and the procession walk back to the center of town. At the base of the statue, there are two people standing with a bronze chalice, the other is holding a loaf of bread and some cheese. Rhian walks up to them and takes the cup and offers it to Mowen who solemnly takes a sip. She looks at Balz who does the same. She gives the cup back. Takes the bread, hands it to B, shows him to break it off, Mowen does too. Same with the cheese. They eat that for breakfast. They walk down to the pond and B washes Mowen’s feet. Once that’s done, Rhian and the four women take Mowen off through the village. B is left standing by the statue. The two with the chalice and bread nod to him and head back to the hall. He’s standing there in the early morning sunlight by himself.
