1. Jan 8, 2026 The One Where We’re Set Upon by Some Boss Centaurs Nathaniel talks about a change to the boat journeying. The mechanics there will change, because the levels of exhaustion upon arriving at a new place with little opportunity to do anything about doesn’t work very well. We all get to drop 2 levels of exhaustion.

We talk about character changes. Tom will be updating Storr’s page with backstory changes.

Nathaniel shares some changes on how Silas’ cloak works, and how Seren also had one of the arctic fox flavor (more details tbd)

We recap last time.

We’ve not left the boat yet, and given the new exhaustion levels, we’re all going to check out the shore. We take all our stuff.

We don’t hear the noises anymore. The terrain is ocean-smoothed cobble, smooth otherwise. We do see tracks, large 6in across where more visible, circular-ish indentations where something was moving around. They appear to move up into the forest.

Storr: These could be centaurs, like the sentries.

Silas is our tracker (Nature, 18). Silas leads with Arthen and Storr behind. We track most of the morning. Goes through some dense forest. Guessing that its hoof prints. Eventually it peters out, forest grows back in around it. As time goes on, they grow less distinct.  Not sure what to make of it. Silas says it looks horse-ish. There are multiple animals. At least 3, but not totally sure. Could be more but probably not less.

It does seem we are following the tracks in the same direction they were traveling. Silas does notice that the tracks should be fresher here but they’re not, which seems strange, like the forest is involved. The forest does seem primeval.

We’ve been moving up hill inside a cull. We’re reaching up toward a high spot between two hills.

Storr posits that these folks probably know we’re here, saw us on the boat. We probably shouldn’t try and sneak up on them. May not be a threat, but they may also be a threat. We agree to proceed cautiosly, but not sneak around, and attempt to be unaggressive. We head to the high hill.

Krambler is our pathfinder tonight (Travel: 6) We get turned around and don’t totally know where we end up.

We find ourselves in a clear with a little outcropping (screenshot) We move into the circle, and start to hear rustling in the bushes to the northeast southwest and northwest of us.

Storr scrambles onto a boulder to get a better look. She hears the twang of a bow, and sees a creature emerge, a centaur. (She missed.)

WE FIGHT

  • Krambler hits for a CRIT HIT
  • The centaurs so far have been whiffing like their little hooves depended on it.
  • The mage centaur has a sword and can do like 3 things in one turn.
  • Silas gets hit BAD and drops to zero, automatically bearing out
  • Branwen takes out Gale and sing a song (Brid song) and Branwen is surrounded in a purple aura of ravens. The centaur encompassed in the aura is now frightened of her.
  • Krambler falls. Branwen falls. Silas in bear form gets down to 1.
  • Storr uses the INFLUENCE action to convince the mage that they don’t want to fight.
  • Silas as the bear, hears Storr’s plea, and places his staff on the ground

COMBAT ENDS

The mage picks up K and stabilizes his fallen centaur, then stbailizes K and Bran, then comes back to stand atop the outcropping, and the other centaurs make their way up next to him. The mage stares down at storr to see what we do next.

Storr moves up into the outcropping and kneels. The mage speaks in a not-common language, a bit like what Myrthen used.

Storr casts speak with animals. As the spell takes effect,. He makes the same sounds again and looks at storr and says “what of your companions?”

St motions to them to join her. We gather.

To Storr: “Why re you here? Why are you following into this forest

Centaur: While you may come to this island, the forest and the peaks are not for you. I suggest you return to the ship. If you intend to speak to the others, that’s on you.

Who are the others?

The three women who live below the tree.

S: We will gladly leave. Would you be willing to tell us where to find the tree?

Cen: Look for the shadow in the sky. (He feels confident that that will help you find the way.)

Storr thanks him “we will do as you request. My weapon and i are bonded. Would you return it to me?

(Yes, but Nathaniel’s going to think about it for the week.)

  1. Jan 15, 2026 The One Where We Leave The Boss Centaurs And Make for the World Tree We recap last weekend.

Storr and Silas talk about changes to their past.

These four are half horse, centaurish. But they vary in how human they are.

Where are these women? What do you think of them?

Look for the shadow of the giant tree. We guard this forest and like to be aware of those who approach the well.

Is the well in this growth?

The well is ast the base of the tree

Is the tree drinking from the well

You could say such things.

We draw The Cradle. He sees it as a symbol of unity of the world.

Is tehre a connection between the symbol and the three women?

You’re asking deep questions. We have suspicions but we don’t know.

What is significant about the landmass?

….

Did we do anything to make you think we’re enemies?

You came to a place you’re not supposed to be.

We didn’t know that. But you’re comfortable with us going to the tree?

  • Visitors can go there as long as we mark your passage**.

The forest is very rich and alive. It feels otherworldly. They are protecting the forest.

We turn to go. He points at Balz: and says to storr, “What is this one? How is he made? How is he here?”

Silas regales them

He gives Balz a look as though he was welcome to approach. Sizing up Balz, thinking.

He points at Balz’s broken horn, asking for it. He holds it, understanding passes between the other centaurs. He indicates the horn and looks to Balz questioningly.

Balz explains what it’s capable of, and asks if that function will cease if it gets mended.

He hands Balz back the horn and reaches out to Balz’z forehead. With B’s consent, he draws a line down his forehead. B feels a bit of energy, a positive feeling. Odd. Not quite sure what to make of it. Balz would feel marked. The leader seems satisfied and says something to the other centaurs and they all walk off into the woods.

We travel back the way we came to the beach.

The centaurs were saying something about the tree having a shadow in the sky.

We heal, and short rest.

Balz awakens in the night and spies the shadow of an enormous tree extending into the sky. We’re reminded of the tree that we fell through jumping out of Nyth. Took up a lot most of the sky. Branwen has a weird memory like she’s seen this tree before but she can’t remember where.

We wake. Balz and Storr check out the waterfall. (investigation, 6 & 8 respectively)

Branwen sends Koweth, Silas sends Arthen with him so he can practice tracking. Koweth does a loop around flies off to the waterfall. Earthen ranged along the beach, sniffing around teh animal trail. Koweth called, Arthen disappeared into the brush. They both came back after a bit indicating that if we followed them we’d have a way forward.  The animals high five each other (wing to ear, really).

We travel with the help fo A&K up and around the waterfall. There are a set of rough stairs off the end of what we thought was an animal trail. Balz has a weird sense as he’s gong along that he recognizes this as a human trail, but he doesn’t know why he knows that. Feels different than the forest. We emerge.

The river is flowing out of the hill. A few inches deep, larger pools maybe waist deep, a mountain stream flowing downhill.

We wade into this cave. Bran and Silas take spills.

We emerge.

The tree to the left is gigantic. We’re surrounded by craggy walls of stone. The sky appears to be dusk. We see three women hanging out. They acknowledge us, but standing very still around the water, watching.

One looks remarkably like if Storr and Branwen had a baby. Storr hits on Branwen, Branwen kind of returns the favor, but says she doesn’t want it.

We pause for the evening.

N. requests that we give him a one-liner speaking to the direction our character is going at the moment, what they’re looking for, want most.

  1. Jan 22, 2026 The One Where We Chat With Thee Women By A Pool, But It’s 2026 The 3 lost their names long ago.  Not sure who took them.  A man remembers though.   Osgog remembers!

We were put here and left.  Spoken only of whispers.

We hear ourselves on the winds, sometimes.

They once had power beyond your reckoning.

The stories are no longer told, it’s hard to remember that power that used to flow through us.

We tell a tale of The God King.  After a bit of rolling…

They feel themselves in that story.

Is this the prison from the story?

Black hair: we seem to be stuck here.

Old woman: it’s a prison because we don’t have our names!

Branwen presents Gale, telling them that the sword contains the storm itself.  They toss the sword around, the older woman sticks Gale into stone.

Branwen asks if they recognize the storm within.  No super clear response.

Storr asks if they know Rhiannon - it was her sword.  We don’t peddle in petty names like those.

B asks if they know Bremfyr, he crafted it.  We aren’t impressed by this trinket, I’ve crafted far more impressive.

What do you want?

Balz has been marked by the spirits of the forest

We can tell you your: Past(white) present(red) future(black)

Balz asks the future lady.  You seem to have a gift to receive.  It may be helpful to look forward instead of backward.  Pointing at the horn.  You have a choice: paths of the bones we made, or back to the humans.  Take the horn.  Drink from the well.

Balz decides humans suck.  Redhead: how do you feel about becoming a wild thing?  Balz likes his wits, doesn’t want to be a beast.

Black hair: this gift on the way to youm but you can taste the flavor.  Would you rather …beasts of the forest or go back to some version of yourself?

Balz wants to do it.  Whatever it is.

Balz chooses beast mode.

He drinks from the well, using his horn.  He feels the water coursing through his veins.  He feels ALL of his parts.  Intimately. He feels his body as primordial pieces (skin:bark, blood:sea water, etc).

Balz can cast Alter self (https://roll20.net/compendium/dnd5e/Alter%20Self#content) as a 2nd level ritual spell.

These 3 are close to him, and have something to do with what he is made of.

White hair looks at Branwen.  Says: your past is lost, is it not?

  • Balthazar’s Input:**

  • They ask Branwen what she would give the three if they gave them back her past.**

  • Black Hair: Who’s playing the music and where did it come from**

  • Bran: From The Boatman, it was Cricket’s song. I have odd connections to Cricket, our essences are somehow entwined. His loss became my being.**

  • White Hair: You have three things, and perhaps an arrangement can be made. I would take a flute of bone–**

  • Red Hair: And I would take a perpetual fire–**

  • Black: And I would take a cloak that hides in the darkness**

  • Bran: And in return you’d tell me my past?**

  • A pause indicating a yes.**

  • Branwen considers: she’d have to give up her prized items (one thing to one of them). She gives the Redhead the everburning fire.**

  • The Redhead blows it into flame, and the Three look upon it and the woman with white hair says, And I believe you have some flower petals? Branwen casts them into the fire.**

  • The Black Haired woman spins her hand as the petals turn to ash in the flames, or are pushed away. They look at the pool and tell Branwen to drink from it.**

  • Branwen glances at Storr looking for affirmation, Storr provides. Silas, too. Branwen drinks some water with her hands. The following occurs:**

  • Everything goes fuzzy for Branwen. Her eyes are open, but she isn’t seeing what’s around her. She experiences feeling herself suddenly in a greyscale world, and slowly realizing she’s on a boat, a small boat, rocking on a black sea. As she feels the boat move on the waves, she sees the shore come in and out of focus, far away. She feels a lot of pain in her throat, and finds she is drenched in blood. A familiar voice says from behind, This is the land you now inhabit.**

  • The boat runs aground and Branwen steps out. She sees the Boatman and recognizes him. Memories flood back, and she recognizes herself as Cricket. She undergoes the same process that caused her to undergo her original transformation, and emerges, still Branwen, but with all of Cricket’s memories and the certain knowledge that it was the Boatman that carried her across the water. She finds herself back at the edge of the pool.**

    • Storr’s Take…***

A man may know the three names… his name is Osgog and he remembers all things.  They were put there and forgotten about, spoken about only in whispers and hear themselves on the wind sometimes.

They can feel themselves flowing.

Silas:

The tree: it doesn’t look identical to any of the trees we’ve seen. But there would be a strong kinship between those other tress adn at least possible that it was a manifestation or an aspect of one tre that is casting this shadow. The shadow would lead silas to believe we saw a part of a tree or part of it.

  1. Jan 29, 2026 The One Where We Contemplate Helping the Enchantresses We discuss Balz’ horn, drinking from it, how The Abbot drank from a horn in the tree before he died.

We discuss what to do next. We decide to go back into the cave and try to travel to the tree through the pool.

We go back to the pool and the women are still there.

Balz looks through the spyglass at the water and thinks he sees the reflection of stars, even though its day.

Storr asks what they see, and they render Storr unconscious.

Balz asks if we can make a deal. If we get their names back, what would their intentions be?

White hair: I would like to feel the power in my hands again

Read hair: I once felt power coursing through my body, but now i am here, and i would like to find those who took it from me

Black hair: There was a time when I rode high amongst the winds and could travel throughout the world and I would like that freedom back.

Silas asks the young one about her travels.  I no longer remember my travels, but if i had my name back…I would know.

Branwen last week got the sense that her patron saw that they could be powerful allies but also cause a LOT of trouble.

Balz asked about their history, and got silenced by the white hair.

Branwen: we cant very well go around asking about the names of 3 strange ladies.  What do you remember about yourselves that could aid us in finding your names?

R: We told you we heard of someone

B: And we told you his name–

W: Is osgog

We discuss osgog and his mother (Doldhelan/Noswaith), and Osgog and the Dragon.

Silas’s note: There is a sisterhood of Doldhelan and Ceridwen (kelynnyn, Gwen at the tower, probably Seren. If Osgog’s mother is truly still trapped, we would have an interest in freeing her. If these three have their names back, maybe they could help free her.

Ok, big theories coming together.

Osgog’s mother is imprisoned, presumably by Mons (Osgog and the Dragon).  Osgog built a dragon, a nameless entity that could penetrate the barrier and free his mother.

The dragon ends up defeated and left encircling the mother’s grove/prison thing.

The compass has a dragon wrapped around a 5 lobed cradle-figure.

Balz’ dream has a dragon wrapped around some entity.

The 3 women’s names may have been taken by Gorgomog.

Osgog remembers the 3’s names, according to the 3, themselves.

Storr posits the compass is symbol of her failure.

Silas’ note: Osgog and the Dragon seems to be written with a certain angle, read: propaganda of Mons. The cradle, if a symbol of Noswaith, could have positive connotations, as a sign of honor and respect put out into the world by the sisterhood.

The cradle: We talk about the girls at the tower playing teh game with Arthen (it was the not=Glasses Girl three.

We play the game in front of the thre women. Black hari taps Balz on the shoulder and indicates he should be in the center with Arthen.

The women close their eyes and nod, looking satisfied.

Bran: Do you want to try?

Red: No, but somehow it does bring me comfort.

  1. Feb 5, 2026 Silas’ notes

The well water is not for us, it’s for them. We’ll not be traveling through this pool. They say we need to become familiar with the path and what it wants.

The react negatively to The Black Water, but they don’t know anything about it.

How do we find out what the road wants?

Black hair: When something feels that you’re looking to get something from it rather than hearing what it itself is interested in, it tends not to listen to your request. Perhaps this is a place where listening harder to the things will create a greater friendship than making demands with them.

Seren perhaps reached this understanding with the road to be able to travel along these pathways.

We get the sense that the shadow of this tree is also cast by the pool tree.

Balz plays Awel. They step toward the water. There’s a swirl of black and of wind.

Balz: what does it mean to you?

Black hair: I feel it in my bones.

Silas plays Melys. They step forward with their arms out. A warm glow emanates from the pool. They seem warmer and more motherly, less hard than before.

Balz: Rew. They stand taller. The glow turns to harsh colorless white. They look stern, not frightening, but rigid.

We see that there was a level of their reaction that was not voluntary. Not quite conditioned response. They were swept up in it. They seemed pressed toward something. Almost like a fairground whistle where people snap to attention out of habit. They dont loose consciousness, they’re moved to do this. There’s a little relief in them that they’ve accurately performed their duties, don’t mind the routine sort of thing.

Are the songs older than the enchantresses themselves?

In the evening, Silas and Arthen head into the woods for a hunting training session

Branwen hums the bird song

  1. Feb 12, 2026 Silas notes:

The journey:

Balz: Guide (Travel)

Storr: Hunter

Silas: Scout (Exploration)

Branwen: Lookout (perception)

Event 1:

Balz (5), 1 day

Silas(10) and Arthen are hanging out on the bow. We’re traveling through a cloud bank and the wind picks up, and it blows the bank out. It’s late at end of Day 2. The cloud whisks back, in one direction we see a beautiful sunset on one side, but we turn and see the full moon behind us as the second night begins. Silas beckons everyone up to the deck. We all have a moment of these elements, the ocean, the cloud, the sun and moon, where its a deep mystical feeling.

Event 2:

Balz (23), we arrive.

Desolate mound, small, a few hundred meters across. Huge slabs of rock stuck into the ground. The ring is 50 yards wide.

Slabs are a foot or a foot and a half thick. 6 to 10 feet wide. 10-15 feet tall, some 20. We get closer and see that there is a ditch that goes down to a flat space. There’s a relatively flat stone in the middle, level with the turf. Can confirm there are 12 upright stones.

Arthyden and Storr and Arthen move to the center. They see passageways behind these doors and maybe they’re closed doors. We seem to be at a crossroads, but we can’t seem to find a way out.

  1. 2/26/2026 Storr thoughts -
  • 12 stone henges we’ve seen this pattern before
    • Merthyn circle for example
    • Tree island stones circling that played music
    • Maybe we have to interact with them
    • Storr examines one slab, the two faces are parallel - the sides look like book pages;
      • It’s thinnest at the bottom and 12 feet tall
      • Grey w/ crust and liken, very old looking
      • May be we have to play music FOR the stones, not from the stones?
      • Branden Hopps is a fine young man
      • We are going to form the cradle with our arms, put Arthen in the middle, and sing a song together
      • Storr thinks our intention has to be to sing a song that connects to a particular place (Silas song for example may open a path way to some place associated with druidism)
        • Our performance rolls were terrible (10 Storr, 1, and 6)

WE RECALL BEING TOLD THERE WAS AN INSIGHT ROLE  THAT WE DON’T HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION TO DO ANYTHING HERE… forty five minutes ago.  Hoppsy was very patient with Silas and Storr; he deserves recognition for that.

WE journey!  Nate rolls a 20 for the weather - JOYFUL SIGHT - wafting mist, seafog, wind picks up an we start cruising along at a good clip.  Night falls.  Fog opens up… we are unsure how long we’ve been going - could be while, could be short, no sunrise though.  Seems great.  Fog parts to reveal an island.  The height of the island has 2 peaks. Crescent moon horns are sitting atop the hill.  We are all moved and inspired by this event.  (we all get an extra d20 to downtime activity, in the next 24 hours).

<Oh what a night - Billy Joel.gif>

Wafting mist, seafoam, the wind picks up behind us, and we’re moving at a good clip, it’s exhilerating. Nigh t falls. We’re in the fog, and then it opens. We’re not suire how long we’ve been sailing. It feels like it’s been a while, but at the same time there hasn’t been a siunrise. Felt really good.  We see an island rising in front of us. Very dramatic, after the The height of it – the island has two peaks on it. Quite close to this island. Over the peak is a super thin crescent moon that reminds of horns siting on the hill,. Like tthe hill has horns. We are all moved, and inspired. Extra d20 for a downtime activity in the next 24 hours.

We stay on the boat over night.  Storr is EXHAUSTED from this amazing journey.  We smell rain on the air.  We slept and rest, but IT’S STILL NIGHT TIME.

We ain’t scared.  Storr leads a charge up to the beach (with Kleghein in one hand and Krammer in the other, howling with madness).

The branches sway up high in the wind.

We climb that fucking hill.   (Kate Bush ensues)

We blast Immigrant song on soundshare

“Come on you fools, do you want to live forever? There’s a hill to climb!”

Silas and Arhten have an Aragorn-Gimli moment like Silas is about to toss Arthen up the hill.

We blast Running up that Hill on soundshare.

We find a GIANT figure on the top of the hill.

  1. Mar 5, 2026 Balz reads the log from last week.

WE FIGHT

  1. The giant blasts the group of us with a bolt and we loose a bunch of health despite rolling really well. Arthen collapses into the woods. Silas bears out.
  2. Storr implstorrs Arthyden to let her ride. Some quick calculations given the terrain reveals that the travel required probably wouldn’t be worth it. Next time.
  3. Branwen ravens out, flies up, and frightens the shit out of the giant
  4. Balz pulls a real Hawkeye and blasts this mother with some high quality crossbow hits.
  5. Storr uses Kleghien and her runes to great effect
  6. The giant brings down a huge lightning bolt down on the group for significant damage. Branwen starts gurgling blood.
  7. Silas brings down the (claw) hammer on the giant and he collapses, holding his groin. A wind blasts through the area toward the north east. It seems like it’s dissipating as it goes, but we can’t really see it as it travels through the darkness. We hear fell voices on the wind as the shadow shape gets blown off the hilltop into the night sky.

Balz rolls old lore in an attempt to glean what we hear. DM will let us know what we hear.

We’re not totally sure what this precipice was built for, it’s a natural hilltop with human intervention.. Some of the island is hidden by the surrounding slopes.

We think the moon HAS moved, no longer in the same direction from us, but it hasn’t changed it’s elevation, just seems to be circling around the island. Perpetually shining down on the island.

We take downtime activities x2 (joyous sight), and take a short rest.

There’s wind. Branwen casts comprehend languages. DM will get abc to us about that too.

  1. Mar 19, 2026 Balz as the storm giant dissipates: Reminds balz of the youngest enchantress somehow, but like a son, or a male.

Branwen’s listening (comprehend languages):

In terms of comprehend languages from the end of Thursday night, you think that the voices on the wind are almost like a fractured personality, it[s almost the babble of a confused mind talking to itself.  They’re searching for something - they keep saying “it” - but it’s as though they’re talking to themselves/each other, and the wind is weaving in and out of the world looking for whatever this thing is.

Balz may want to…

Weave the wind, with the voices on the wind and all.

Silas rolls 17 investigation. Nothing seems to be off to the northeast where the giant wind went. Guessing though that the smaller hilltop is also bald.

We head over to the other little hill on the island.  Branwen leads the party over with her Darkvision.  Arthen is sent on a mission up the hill, while listening to the “epic” version of the Kate Bush song.  He is gone for like 15 minutes, and nothing really comes of it.

We come to a rise, with standing stones and swirling patterns (screenshot). It’s misty, wind flowing through.

There’s scree on the ground in swirling patterns. Branwen turns into a raven and flies to the top of the tallest stone. Someone appears. She (Jessie Buckley) looks at the raven, and tilts her head.

Bran thinks perhaps Jessie Buckley is maybe part of the sisterhood, the “crag and forest” group.

Branwen reforms into … Branwen, and hums Cricket’s lullaby.  Jessie Buckley comes around the corner.

There’s various rock investigations.  Old rock. Lichen.Textures as the air flows, air is feeling the rock as it flows.

Branwen: “Seems like you know this song better than i”

Woman (JB): Holds up a hand and starts waving her hands.  Branwen fails a CON save, and gets drowsy.

Branwen cries out and we hear it.

Silas approaches, and becomes relaxed, but not drowsy. Storr also approaches and become relaxed.

Silas hails her, and asks what she’s doing here.

She asks what WE’RE doing here. She likes the song.

Branwen tries to wake up, by singing Melys. She feels a warmth. She can stand up and feel more awake.Branwen defiantly, confidently sends a look of “I see your song, and here is another”.

Silas smokes, and asks what she knows of the power of this place. She bends and picks up some greenery on the ground

“There can you smell that?”She hips the herb in her hand in front of us. Silas and Storr inhale deeply. Storr finds it calming. Silas recognizes it as a scent (thyme)

“As for the power, I think this is one of those things… what I am trying to do here has very little to do with ords, so its hard ot explain. If you relax and let it come to you, you can rather see what I mean.”

Silas: Are there others here with you?

JB: I think so, but I’m never really sure.

We let the woman use the quill to no real avail, but she tried.

Discussion of how the party has ALWAYS under-counted the events at the tower when a shadow escaped and we got a quill.

  1. Mar 26, 2026 Attention turns to Silas.

Silas puffs his pipe, “Delightful, that smell.  Do you use that in your cooking”.

JB: Depends on the the cooking.  I’m always trying to SHAPE THE AIR.  Sometimes the scents you put on it help shape it.  You use what ingredients you can find.

S: I too come from the outdoors.

JB:  There’s so much here.  That’s why I come here, and others.

S: So you’re a visitor here?

JB: We are all visitors - I choose to stay here at this spot.

S: look at the ground !

JB: yes, you can see where the air has shaped the ground.

We recognize the Cradle as part of the scree pattern.

S: We’ve seen this before.  From my childhood, even.

JB: HmmMmm, but feeling the wind and not listening to us a lot. This is a good, central spot -

AND WE NOTICE A FUCKING CRADLE IN THE STONES UNDER HER

Silas proposes that we do the Cradle game with JB in the center of the circle while standing over the symbol.

JB: You can call me Gwynys.

So we cradle.  She declines to sing, prefers to listen to the wind.

There’s a constant breeze. She’s moving her hands, cupping them, opening her mouth, experimenting. We hear notes.  It sounds like Merthyn’s Cradle Song - it was produced by Gwynys and the wind.

JB:  Creation is what it is .  when you are making something you don’t always know where the inspiration comes from.

I’m trying to write the wind.  Sometimes it feels familiar, sometimes it don’t.  Not sure if I’ve written that one before.  Inspiration comes and goes.  It’s not about me, but about writing the wind and letting it go into the world.

S: tells of the wind weavers, baskets, etc.

JB: The wind goes everywhere, finds it’s way between and all over.  It finds its way. You can feel it move, but can’t understand it entirely, just making it as beautiful as I can.

S: What’s you goal with the wind here?

JB: The movement is the goal, sometimes it comes out and you think, that was pretty special.

S: You harness so beautifully…hey, you know about the storm giant we ran across?  We had to defend ourselves….

JB: Don’t know, but the wind is powerful.  It has a strength, a personality, can be destructive.

Branwen: asks if JB can teach her to harness the wind in this way

Old lore roll (21). She teaches her. It’s a melancholy movement. She’s moving her hands, picking up the herbs, she talks B through it and B tries to do the same. JB: You do seem to have something of a knack for it. This is something you can clearly see and be a bit of a writer with the wind.

Bran: Why the word “Writing”?

JB: I feel as though that’s the right word, I’m a wind poet. I think it’s more about writing a feeling. When you’re writing a poem, it’s telling you something, it puts you into an emotional place. It’s the feeling. It’s the different pieces of it.

Branwen gets it.

JB: You said your family was involved?

Bran: I don’t know my family directly. But there women (Morianoth, Doldhelen) would try to hear and understand its sign. I have a connection to them.

JB: That first name: Morianoth, feels familiar and windlike somehow.

B: I don’t know as much about my background as much as I’d like, but you might know my mother, Mother Night. In different phases she’s listened to the wind. You might know her.

JB: I think perhaps I have maybe a temptation to offer you. (Also offers it to Balz in regard to weaving the wind).

She REACHINES INTO THE FOLDS OF HER DRESS AND PULLS OUT A SMALL CORKED GLAS BOTTLE WITH A PURPLE LIQUID IN IT. and says

This effects everyone differently, but at times I think I can see the wind differently even if it seems hazy and confusing. It’s quite strong, but if the two of you would like to rry it that has shown this interest, I would be willing to offer it to you.

They predator handshake. CON save (Bran: 16, Balz: 20)

Nathaniel will email.

  1. Apr 2, 2026 Bran and Balz take swigs. Bran’s eyes roll back. Balz dematerializes like the guy fro the tower to a different spot.

She asks Bran: What did you see?

Bran: Everything.

During the process Bran did pull Gale out. She looks down at it wide eyed and is trying to hear if there’s a song. She remembers a song but can’t place it. Bran realizes Gale is sentient. Rules are similar to Kleg. She feels a song like vibration and understands that G feels a little bit less alone. Gwyn says “And who is that one then?” pointing at Gale.

Bran feels Gale and says, “Gale.”

JB: Can you feel it talking to you? I can feel she’s talking but I can’t understand it. She speaks in song though.

Bran is in sensory overload. Balz takes the spotlight.

Balz: Felt like I experienced hundreds of lifetimes. A crazy journey, very disorienting. What did I experience?

JB: I think only you can say what it is you experienced. This comes from a recipe I was told and I’ve it was called The Wine of Nightmares. I’ve heard of that before elsewhere and I’m not sure if this is truly that substance. But I could certainly believe that it was given the experience of drinking it.

Balz: I don’t regret it I just don’t understand it.

JB: Hard to say if any person really can.

We talk cradle.

We look up.

We see stars. Some of them look familiar. Some of them do not. It’s very dark except for the crescent moon. The moon has been circling us, not rising and setting. The stars are moving as expected.

Gwenis, does the sun ever come out on this island?

Nope, easier to see the wind at night time - makes the other senses stronger.

Br: WHO ARE YOU”?

I write the wind, I try to write the wind, anyway.

I’m here, why would I leave, since I can occupy the breeze at night.

Br: whe’red you get the wine?

Found it floating on the shoreline, a few bottles.

WINE OF NIGHTMARES - Nate really wants us to know the name of this drink.

Balz: he became disembodied,

Percep, 12: He’s capturing images and they’re coming fast, but in one moment he recognizes that people in general in this state, they are not aware of him, he’s moving around as the wind. There is a moment where eyes look directly at him. They see you and recognize you. You recognize them (you have seen them before but not sure where.)

Bran:

Bran has had visions of a dancing woman before (as Cricket)

We Journey

Same roles.

Balz: Travel: 8

We sail out to sea. Steady rain and wind. Feeling waterlogged but okay.

Fatigue saving throw +1. Next hunting roll has disadvantage

Event #1: Branwen

She directs us so well, that we’re fine. We’re not blown off course.

Balz: 6

Fatigue saving throw +2 total

Event #2: Bran

She gets cocky and distracted by Arthen’s antics. She realizes we’ve fallen off the wind quite a ways, she gets her bearings to right our direction, but a day and night has passed. Soggy in reality and temperament. We give her space.

Balz: 12

Event #3: Silas

Cloudy w drizzle. Hunkered down in the tarp. Bran tried to play a song to lift spirits.

FST doesn’t increase. Everyone despite the rain feels a little warth and sunshine, and it’s definitely not Arthen’s “fishy flatulence”

Balz: 21

We arrive. We see islands in the distance.

It’s Trenewydth

  1. Apr 9, 2026 Nathaniel recounts the beginnings of osgog, and we chat more about the happenings before and after getting to the city, the Reb Blade, the gardeners, and the Sun King.

In character, we decide to backtrack the boat and try to find a place to shore up. We skirt around some large islands shaped like a pair of croissants with a small island in the middle. We decide to advance into the cove. We see some odd smoke coming from the island. Bran(percep, 22) sees some paths on the western ridge, but no settlement.  Silas scouts (explore, 16) find s a decent spot to pull up to the western side.

We hike up to the ridge. Bran slips but handles it (dex 19)

Balz (CON, 16) wants to clear his mind and gets an inspiration. A nice vacay on a greek island reading Jack Gilbert.

Bran (old lore, 9) wants to scope evidence of the dead. None that she can see, but there’s something here and she doesn’t know what.

Storr (Hunting, 20) wants to find blueberries. She doesn’t find them, but she does find an olive grove. Arthen tries one and is delighted.

Silas (disadv, 5) wants to scope evidence of people. Can’t tell where smoke is coming from. It’s weird, just hanging out.

We scope the city from our outlook point. Can’t see into the city center.

We split up to rest. Balz stays at the outlook. Branwen stays at the midpoint. Silas goes south with Arthen to take a 24 hr rest to shed exhaustion. Storr heads down the slop and finds a suitable cave for stashing our things.

Balz hears with his ranger abilities that he feels like he’s being watched, hears animal sounds, but more like someone trying to make animal noises, signals.

Storr and Balz meet up with Bran around 10, then they head down to where Silas is, just before noon.

  1. Apr 16, 2026 The One Where We Meet Orm and Behold Her Frescoes We’re curious about the night sounds. Balz (insight, 10): there are paths here, it would stand to follow those if we’re looking for people. (Balz, nature, 15) Bal’z impression was that there wasn’t communication, but that someone was checking us out and mask their movements by making natural movements.

Arthen seemed weary and watchful last night. Keeping watch over Silas.

Balz uses primeval awareness and feels some fey presence around (could be within 6 miles). Nothing too strong, some fey influence kicking around, otherworldly, based in nature-magic.

Bran becomes a raven and does a circuit around the island (Investigation, 18) There’s a network of opaths, seemingly random, but it does have an epicenter on the northwestern slope. Storr had found olive tress out that way. These seem like scavenging trails, gathering food, there’s a spring. A central spot. She focuses more and sees an entrance, some stonework hidden in some scrub, hovels, a cave. Looks like a manmade shelter-ish kind of thing.

Bran (travel, 18): we get there with no problems.

We elect Balz to be the face of the party. Bran ravens and alights in a tree. Silas and Arthen hang pack and couch down to seem less intimidating. Balz approaches with the olives and hails them. An eye peeks out from behind a cloth. He offers the olives. A pause. A woman steps out from behind the cloth dressed in well kept rags. Middle height, skinny but strong older woman. Hair pulled back.

What, you’re going to give me my own olives as a gift?

I can put them back.

No no I’m joking. You at least saved me the labor.

Balz: Come friends, nerf sit.

Bran flies down and materializes. She’s taken aback a little. They fist bump.

Silas: I have a bear.

Woman: I see that

Bran: He also is the bear

W: Perhaps I see that too.

Balz: Anything interesting happen lately?

W: A long awaited arrival and a subsequent departure

The city is always here, but there are other places that come to it.

W: I’m allowed to enter.  It’s a trade port first, and foremost.

Balz: who came and departed?  I’ll pay you in olives.

W: reaches into her pocket, pulls out a pipe.  Watches him.  The way you ask makes me think you know what I’m speaking of.

BZ: We don’t know when or how of our last visit.  Do you margaritas?

Who came and went, SUN KING, HMM?

W: NO! Someone much more interesting.

Balz: Who are you talking about?

Secret for a secret, she says.

BZ: tells tale of the Abbot.

The arrival was the Abbot and our accompaniment.

The body was claimed.  I went in when i heard the news, but he had departed.

Silas: you just missed us!

W: possible.

He had departed by the time you got there, what did youmean.

His body was claimed.

The departure was him, along with whoever claimed him, leaving the city.

I wanted to see his body but it was no longer there.  They seemed to think family had come and claimed him.

Bz: he has quite a family.

Shining prince?  Prince of the world.

He returned and made a choice.  That made all the different.

He didn’t chose the crown, no one sits on the throne.  Which sits far away.  The sun king is trying to find th throne.

The foundling is the Abbot

Prophecy?

We recite the foundling poem. She thinks its interesting that the poem talks of a “she”. Balz offers that that’s like “glasses girl” and says we’ve found her. She promises to keep that information in confidence.

Silas sees some parallels of her to his own people. Lives in nature. Seems like she’s goot a handle on it.

We finally introduce ourselves. Her name is Orm.

We talk of the cradle, both the game and the symbol.

Orm: It seems rudimentary, but sometimes those types of symbols persist.

Balz: We’ve seen it also infused with color. Does that mean anything? (Balz: Persuasion, 19, after using inspo)

Orm: Come walk with me to the olive grove.

We follow. She walks up to aparticulatrly old tree. She puts her hand on it, looks to Bz and says, I don’t know what caused this tree to take this shape, or who planted it, but something or someone did. And Sometimes I look at the things here on the island and I am in awe of the patterns that they create, I don’t know your symbol or your colors but it seems like perhaps whatever spoke to this tree to take this shape, what your describing, it’s like its speaking in a simler and claeer way that it speak to this tree. I cam to this island and chose to stay away from the machinations of the grand emporium. Given my inclination to trust all of you, I have something to show you.

We return to her hut. She looks at us and gestures to the outcrop that she’s burrowed into. “The rock here is very soft. The weather is lovely, maybe better than anywhere else. When I came here and realized it took very little to make space, I found somethings that have been my labor for some time.” She walks through and gestures us to come in.

Small space, 12 ft across. Interior cliff. Stone is braidable. Scrapiong a rock would shave more stone off. Bed on one side, small hearth. We see older stonework protruding from one stop on the wall. A small hole next to some of the stonework that burrows back into the cliff. She loks adna says “Do you dare follow me.”

We do.

Image: Fresco1.png

She picks up a candle, lights it. We follow her. She moves quickly. Bright stone. We see stonework protruding out in various places. Hear a hall of sound up ahead. She takes a sharp turn. We follow. We stand up inside a space. We enter a rooma nd it seems like a legitimate room, not like her space. Built by someone with masonry skills, not hollowed out. The ceiling is a bunch of very old woodworking, cracked in places, but still holding whatever is above it. We see by the light of the candle that there are images ont he walls.

Image: Fresco2.png

Image: Fresco3.png

We ruminate on the frescos. They seem to be using bronze tools to create something makde out of bronze. It seems like a record of a way to make a certain thing, something like an offering. They’re wearing jewelry of the same color.

Orm: I find them awe inspiring. Who ever put them here put them here a long time ago. It was buried under stone. How many people have paintings on their wall? And I have these because I found them buried in the side of a hill. Your talking about the color in this simple symbol. It’s work, it’s creation, it’s a small part of something, and I guess I wanted you all to see it. But I don’t know, as you suggested, it looks like metal work to me, but I’m no expert.

We ask about the smoking island.

Orm: It smokes, it smells bad and noting grows there.

Balz: Any plans to do more tunneling.

Orm: I’m only one person. It’s hard work, and I’ve found this, and I shouldn’t ask for toomuch. But I have to assume there must be more out there.

Balz: Anyone else live here?

Orm: Sometimes people stop on their way to Emporium over there. They store things along the shore, but no one really lives here. It looks a little barren, and the wonders of the city are much more attractive to most.

Balz We know the city by a different name.

Orm: I’ve always called it Emporium.

Balz Heard of T-town?

Orm: I have not.

Balz: Ever met any wind basket weavers.

Orm: I have not, but it’d be something I’m interested in.

We mention we’ve looking for a place to stay. She says we have a place if we’re willing to help. She sends us off on various tasks. She makes a stew from a brace of conies. We need our own bowls though.

She was brought to the city when she was young. She became lost, orphaned. Her family left, disappeared. She’s not sure what happened. She was growing upn on he streets, and kept looking out through the various gateways and saw this island when she wa fairly young. She snuck out from that gate and stole a small row boat dinghy and rode out here and made a place for herself. Goes back in once in a while to catch up on t eh news, Still knows a few people ina nd around the palace. Happier to be out here on the island. Generally where she stays.

Balz: Any advice about entering the city?

Orm: The city is full of many people from many different places. Not hard to go unnoticed as long as that is your goal and work towards it. And probably if you would like to spend time in there, it would be in your best interest, to spend time with the less reputable firms shall we say.

Balz: Should we leave our bear with you.

Orm: He would certainly stand out walking around there. Not everyone would think bears as gentle creatures.  She references a story that Balz would have hear of a bear monster living in the woods.

She agrees to keep Arthen while we travel to the city.

Balz: Recommendation for a contact?

Orm: When you enter the city, if you make your way to the central park, one of the roads leading off of it leads to a gate out of which tall wild ragged mountains can be seen if you leave through that entrance. By that gate, there’s a small circular temple and a park. I’ve always found the tenders of that space to be willing to listen. I am friendly with them. (She gives us a name to ask for) They may be able to help you.
