We see the stone at the bottom of the well through the water.

Krambler tries to make the bowl sing with his hammer. The water trembles, and we see branches in the night sky which reminds us of the Ancient Tree.

Cricket sees a message in the trees: > Tell the Traitor:

  • My festival approaches, like you*

  • A puzzles of many pieces*

  • A hearty friend awaits*

  • At the gateway, heart*

  • Deep within the earth*The heroes debate, masterfully. You could even say that they were master debaters?… Hmm.

We talk of maybe this message coming from the Sun King (“traitor”). In that case, maybe he’s summoning some monster to fight us?

B recalls another message here from The Abbott that also calls him “traitor”. If this message is from the Abbott then, the “hearty friend” may reference the bear.

Using his new-found ability, Cricket decodes the letters written around the rim of the bowl:> *…casting a silver-laced pattern of light and dark over the planes of my body…*After some discussion we try to swirl the water with Gale (light and dark, sun and moon, bronze and iron, which Gale is made of)

We see a feather in the water. Cricket picks it up. It appears to made out of metal - silver and gold. It’s a quill pen. Koweth identifies the feather as one made to look like a bird.

B writes something down. Nothing happens.

B sees claw marks on the walls not unlike the marks we saw on the lower level.

We all head downstairs to the third level to the writing desk.

B takes down some sketches of the statues. We guess that the one eyed smithy with a hammer represents Weyland, but we don’t recognize any of them. The one with the pouches and the staff is most likely a healer. We head outside and convince Carrantock to join us in camping on the high ground around the tower. To the north is a gorgeous view of snow capped mountains with the river carving through it.

Storr and B sparr.

Cricket and Silas chess.

In the morning, Storr asks Carrantock about bear riding (he doesn’t get much information.)

We decide to head up river on the eastern shore. Some of us fall in the river while others pull us up through the water.

We go up the river and come to a “stone trilithon”. There’s a paw sticking out around the stone. It’s a badger; it approaches us. Storr throws dried moose meat. He loves it. He sits on his haunches and snacks, looking at us.

Silas speaks with the badger, and the badger speaks:

His name is Mochyn. “I was sent to give aid.”

He doesn’t offer much else information, but looks impatient and wants us to follow him. We go through The Trilithon behind the badger. Out of caution, B looks back through the archway and verifies that the landscape looks as he would expect.

We come to an overlook and see a city sitting at the crest of a waterfall. The Black Water seems to be emanating from one of the structures. There are bridges connecting various structures together. It’s not deserted; we see activity: movement, boats, etc. There’s a small culvert in the western side of the main structure. On the eastern side of this structure by the bridge is a quay where boats can disembark. There’s a small tower on the eastern side with a dock. Above the city is an island connected by a bridge.

We decide to keep following Mochyn (Silas can no longer speak with him.) He brings us down to the eastern bank of the river across from the tower dock. We can see activity further up the shore.
