Krambler forges a helmet for Silas to use as the bear. He loses 1 charisma but gains an AC.
We resolve downtime activities (5d20s)
Tom asks slyly what the girls’ names are.
We council with the girls.
Branwen explains to the girls are our purpose as a party and their potential importance to the world.
We think one of them is the girl, and talk about how they were one and the next day there was four. We believe one of you is the child
Blondie stares Branwen down and says you’re correct it is one of us…
Branwen, which one? Blondie asks, which one? Blondie says you come here with this as a party, which one of us do you think it is and what is it that you’re looking for in this child?
Branwen says I think it’s you (Blondie), and Blondie says it’s not…
IT is NOT the RAVEN HAIR GIRL EITHER (FUCK!). HOPPS SNAPS.
We debate about what to do next. Success with woe? Disaster?
Blondie: You’re all so young, and she (pointing to Glasses) is not like the rest of us. It is not for us to decide, you can ask what request of her you like.
Glasses is taken aback, surprised. The other three scratch Arthen between the ears. They say, “You’re a good boy.” and leave to the courtyard.
Glasses is still confused. Council ends. We have succeeded, but at what cost?
Branwen is quietly melting down, sitting in a chair. Gwen walks over and gives her a hug. “Sometimes things are more complicated than they seem, but that doesn’t mean the things you’ve seen aren’t real. Would you like some tea?
Branwen: Are you going to tell me what the honey means? Otherwise, you can fuck right off.
Gwen: Honey is the fuel of creation.
Branwen: That I’ll take.
Gwen: That’s what I thought.
Glasses is somewhat confused. “What’s going on?”
We have trouble deciding what to do next.
Options:
- Head back down the river to the city
- Head to the farm
- Climb mountain
Glasses says at the top of the mountain, you can get a closer look at the stars. Like you can reach out and touch them.
We head down to Martin’s Summer. Glasses (Nori) is willing to go with us.
Farm is in a cove, mountains rising on all sides, streams flow out somehow. Deep harvest time. A lot of foliage, warm reprise./ Cold nights, warm day, pumpkins are ripening. Low stone thatched buildings. Storr knows her way around, she points us out to the forest, looks desolate based on the time of year.
We come down, Storr shows us the way around.
Beryan comes out “Hello, Storr told me all about you, it’s nice to make your acquaintance. Branwen tries to intimidate, but it doesn’t work. Brenyan smiles and shakes her head.
We ask Beryan for guidance.
We enter a COUNCIL. Branwen rolls a 23 for introduction.
Where should we go next to protect this child?
She sees this as a reasonable request. Branwen introduces everyone
You with the bear helmet, why do I feel like you look familiar.
S: Have you been to a lake in the far north?
B: Yes, I have.
S: Do you know how lives there?
Silas looks into her face and detects a family resemblance.
ITS SILAS SISTER!!! Seren!!
S: Can I hug you?
Bayern: take off your helmet, its ridiculous.
B: It’s been many ages, but more for me than for you. (she is older than silas would expect)
S: How did you survive hte storm?
Beryan: I encountered a world like a buried tower and I pressed my face down through the deepest waves. I came to the edge of the iron blade and found in this broken jaw of our last kingdoms voices in the wind’s singing more solemn than fading star. I plunged my turbulent and tender hands to find what might have returned the warmth or cold of my touch and sank like a drop through sulfuric stillness and found someone awaiting me among the sounds of violins and came here, to Martin’s Summer Farm.
B: now that you arrived, what advice would you like, how canI help? What are your goals?
S: Personal history, then, gives a recap of our history.
B: Makes aggressive eye contact “I KNOW”. S: Great sister. Love you :)
Storr: What is the importance of this child?
B: beyond the purview of …. Something was foretold , carries a significance. Not like anything we’ve seen before.
Storr: somewhere w3e should take her?
B: this place is very safe, been here a long long long time. Spread my branches over wind and rain and protected my children. Other places are possibly safe.
Storr: express SK threat, is safe here? How can we travel quickly?
Storr rolls a FUCKING NAT 20 in persuasion
B: When it comes to travel, I can be of aid. Your choices are thusly:
- Go to the city., you don’t need my help for that
- Travel back to The Oracle and I can tell you the path that will lead you there
- You know there is a path back to where she comes from (Tawesek)
- If there are other places you feel you would like to go, I could potentially get you there as well.
But I can probably only tell you one place. Though, you always have a way of communicating with me by leaving a message at the base of The Tree. // It was THE Tree, right? Not a tree?
We traveled to that tree by way of a puddle of water that attacked us.
“The path that got us there before will get us there again.
The water in this bottle?
Yes.
Silas: Are you the one who’s been sending us messages?
I think so.
I have been many places in many different times. The sap always rises through the tree. So if you are close to the tree, perhaps you can send something along its branches.
Storrr: Why would you call Balz traitor?
This is not something she’s had total control over. It’s not obvious to her. Not sure if it’s past her or future her.
Bran: Which among us is a traitor?
B is bound up in the tree, so she thinks she was bound up in the messages.
**THE PARTY UNLOCKS FAST TRAVEL….potentially
We discuss the possibility that maybe the tree has in fact sent us the messages, but B was a part of that.
Storr asks something. Storr Seren seems to have taken the same journey as Gwedhen.
